Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Murych Consulting LLC ("Murych Consulting", "we", "us") is a U.S.-based automation and reporting studio serving motor carriers, registered at 2100 Main St, Unit 114, Melrose Park, IL 60160, United States. This policy covers data belonging to our clients (motor carriers whose systems we connect to) and data from visitors to this website.
2. Client data we access
When a motor carrier engages us, that carrier authorizes us to connect to third-party platforms the carrier already uses, for example an electronic logging device (ELD) or telematics provider, a fuel card provider, a factoring company, or a tolling authority. Access is granted by the carrier from the carrier's own account, using the carrier's own credentials, and can be revoked by the carrier at any time.
Depending on the platform and on what the carrier authorizes, the data we retrieve may include:
- vehicle and asset records, including trailers;
- vehicle location history, trips and mileage;
- utilization records such as driving and idle time;
- hours-of-service logs and violations;
- inspection reports (DVIR), defects and diagnostic fault codes;
- fuel purchases, fuel card transactions and IFTA trip data;
- driver and fleet manager directory records (name, identifier, assignment);
- invoices, settlements and funding status, where a factoring provider is connected;
- toll transactions, where a tolling account is connected.
This list is illustrative rather than exhaustive, since exact fields differ by platform, but the scope does not change: only operational records of the carrier's own fleet, only what that carrier's reports require, and only within the permissions the carrier grants.
This data belongs to the carrier. We act on the carrier's behalf and under the carrier's instructions. In data protection terms, the carrier is the controller of this data and we are a processor.
We never request or retrieve biometric data. Facial-recognition, face-match and driver-photo permissions are excluded from every integration we build.
Read-only by design
Our access to connected platforms is read-only. We request the minimum permissions needed to produce the carrier's reports, and we do not create, modify or delete any record in the carrier's third-party systems.
3. Why we access client data
For one purpose only: to consolidate the carrier's own operational records into back-office analytics and reporting for that same carrier, covering cost, utilization, compliance and settlement reporting. Access is limited to what that purpose requires.
We do not:
- sell, rent or license client data to anyone;
- share client data with other clients, or with any third party for that party's own purposes;
- use client data for advertising or marketing, whether ours or anyone else's;
- use client data to train machine learning models;
- pool client data into any product or dataset offered to others.
Our reports describe a carrier's operations (loads, trips, vehicles and time periods) and are decision support for that carrier's own management. We make no automated decisions about any person: a report is only one more input for the carrier's owner or authorized staff when they review how the company is operating.
4. Who can see client data
The reporting we produce is delivered to the owner and authorized back-office staff of the carrier that owns the data. There is no public or consumer-facing access. Within Murych Consulting, access is limited to personnel who need it to deliver the service.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to operate, for example cloud hosting, website hosting and business email. These providers process data only to provide their service to us, under their own contractual and security obligations, and are not permitted to use client data for their own purposes.
Beyond this, client data leaves our systems only at the carrier's own request. Where a third party or a government agency asks us for a carrier's data, we direct the requester to that carrier, whose data it is, and we object to requests that are overbroad or that we do not believe we are legally required to answer. We disclose data only where we are compelled by valid legal process, and unless we are legally prohibited from doing so, we notify the affected carrier first, so that it has the opportunity to contest the request. If we are ultimately compelled, we disclose no more than the law strictly requires.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain a carrier's data only while it is needed to provide the reporting the carrier has engaged us for. When a carrier disconnects the integration or ends the engagement, access stops immediately, and we delete the carrier's data from our systems within 30 days, except where a longer retention period is required by law.
A carrier may request deletion of its data, or a copy of it, at any time by writing to the address in section 9.
6. Security
Credentials and access tokens are held in encrypted secret storage. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to production systems is restricted, authenticated and limited to what each role requires. If a breach affects a carrier's data, we will notify that carrier without undue delay.
7. This website
This website is a plain informational site. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics that profile you across sites. If you contact us by email or phone, we keep what you send us so we can reply.
The site loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights over data we hold about you, write to us at the address in section 9.
If a carrier's driver or employee wishes to exercise these rights over data we hold on that carrier's behalf, we will refer the request to the carrier, who controls that data, and we will assist the carrier in responding.
9. Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we handle client data, we will update the effective date above and notify affected clients directly.
